LOST CORNER - Kenshi Yonezu
A force compelled me to listen to anime openings today. This in turn, made me want to listen to a whole album from Kenshi Yonezu, the legend himself. I was hooked from the first track. The production quality on these songs is out of this world. Really a must-listen in my book. I don’t understand anything besides the few English words scattered around the songs, but this didn’t stop me from enjoying the amazing vocals & amazingly produced songs from this album.

King Of The Mischievous South Vol. 2 - Denzel Curry
Solid album. I’ve been listening to it on repeat all day. It has the same vibe throughout the whole thing, but it also somehow offers enough variation between songs, so it doesn’t get boring. Favorite songs are SKED, and WISHLIST, they feel more catchy to me. The whole thing is great though, highly recommend listening to it.

They Left Me With The Sword - Paris Texas
Kinda good EP. I like the dark, mystic vibes in the beginning. It’s a pretty chill listen. It somewhat feels that what is presented to you in the beginning is not delivered towards the end though. The songs are good, they’re just not homogenous.

HYPERYOUTH - Joey Valence & Brae
I’ve been listening to it on and off for the past week or so. Great album, full of energy, and it just feels.. different in a way. It feels fresh.

LP1 - FKA twigs
Straight up ethereal experience. The instrumentals are simply malefic. The singing sent shivers down my spine. Lights On and Two Weeks made my eyes watery. You must listen to the whole thing, you must read the lyrics. Also, this woman is FREAKY!!

Alfredo 2 - Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist
Did a full review in a blog post.

Late Registration - Kanye West
Starts off really strong. The song “Hey Mama” is a literal gem. While the production remains strong throughout the record, the lyrics and the delivery are not as good in the second half of the album. The skits are somewhat funny. Over all a pretty good album.

Graduation - Kanye West
Amazing album. Masterfully mixed. Simply a classic. I’ve listened to it a bunch of time, and I’ll continue to do so. I miss the old Kanye.

DON'T TAP THE GLASS - Tyler, The Creator
The album is quite nice! It is on the shorter side, and I wish it was a bit longer. Still, all the songs are great, so I just tend to put the whole thing on repeat throughout the day. I especially like how unserious, and silly it gets at times.

Watching
Serial Experiments Lain
Weird. The concept behind the series is interesting. The whole series feels slow. There are moments where you feel like “it paid off”, but they’re too few IMO. I like how they used the technology of the time for visualizations.

DAN DA DAN
I immediately good hooked on Dan Da Dan. Momo & Ken have great synergy. The story so far is genuinely absurd, but that’s what makes it sooo goooddd!!
A detail that I really respected and enjoyed was the fact that they never made a gag of the few moments when the protagonists happened to end up embracing each other.
They would just share a small intimate moment, then go back to living in their absurd little world. It felt like coming up for air after being overwhelmed by the world around you.

The Backrooms
Surprisingly good!! I was aware of the existence of “the backrooms”, but I wouldn’t say I was necessarily interested in the whole media around them. I did hear a lot of positive things about this movie though, and I’m happy to say that I did not leave the cinema disappointed. Quite the opposite. I really enjoyed the movie, and I’m excited to see how things evolve.

Hellsing (2001-2002)
Watched it before, but I wanted to watch it again. I really like the idea behind this series. I really enjoy the characters. It’s just that it ended abruptly and left a lot of stuff unresolved. I saw there are some other, more recent editions of the anime, so hopefully the newer ones deal with the unresolved stuff. For now.

The Last Question - Isaac Asimov
Short story, quite nice. Some concepts reminded me of Logic Beach: Part I by Exurb1a. It could be that Asimov’s work was used as inspiration. Anyway, pretty good read.

Playing
Cassette Beasts
I actually finished the main story a couple of weeks ago. I played the game on and off for about a year or so. It is a great game, really well written, especially the character relationships. I got to say though, at some point it did feel a bit repetitive. But at the same time, even with the main story done, there’s still a bunch of stuff that I could still continue to do. Lots of replayability packed into this one. I highly recommend it.
